THE HISTORY of STMIK WIDYA PRATAMA

Computer Higher level Education  Widya Pratama Pekalongan founded in 2002 by the decree of the government Number : 149/D/O/2002 concerning the permission of majoring running and the founding of Computer Higher Level Education (STMIK) Widya Pratama Pekalongan that is  managed by the Education Foundation Widya Pratama Pekalongan.  Based on that conclusion STMIK Widya Pratama has given a license to run the Strata 1 Program (S1) with the majoring are Information System and Information Technology.

Nevertheless, in the previous moment The Foundation of education Widya Pratama has given a trust by the government through Indonesian Education and Culture Minister, to run Computer and Information Management Academy (AMIK) Widya Pratama in Pekalongan based on the decree of Indonesian Education and Culture Minister Number : 157/D/O/1995 about the registered status giving for Information Management Diploma 3 Program.  In 1997, AMIK Widya Pratama Pekalongan add one majoring that is Accounting Computerized with the status is registered and its based on agreement of Dirjen Dikti with the decree number is : 173/DIKTI/Kep/1997.  As one of the responsibility to the government and the society thus AMIK Widya Pratama Pekalongan up grade the status from registered to equalized for Information Management majoring.

In efficiency programming and improving the service effectiveness, hence based on the conclusion of Indonesian Education and Culture Minister Number:75/D/O/2004 has been approved the merger of AMIK Widya Pratama into STMIK Widya Pratama in Pekalongan.  Consequently starting in academic year of 2004/2005, STMIK Widya Pratama in Pekalongan run the Strata 1 Program for Information System and Technique Information majoring.  Meanwhile for the Diploma program are Information management and Accounting Computerized

Based on the decree of senate of  STMIK Widya Pratama Number 052A/STMIK WP/SA/2008 dated on March 29th 2008 about the vision and mission of STMIK Widya Pratama 2008 – 2012 is :

BECOMING A HIGHER LEVEL EDUCATION THAT HAS A GLOBAL VISIONARY IN INFORMATION TEXHNOLOGY, IMPLEMENTING SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY THAT SUPPORT LOCAL CULTURE

MISSION

Based on the decree of senate STMIK Widya Pratama Number 052A/STMIK WP/SA/2008 dated on March 29th 2008 about the mission of STMIK Widya Pratama 2008 – 2012 are : 

1. Running the higher level education with the competitive competence based, with academics attitude and global visionary professionalism.
2. Conducting research and study about information technology that  support on local culture.
3. Building the capacity as an institution centre and networking in spreading the education activity, research and the dedication to the society in information technology.
4. Building and holding the profession ethics, academics morality and religion for the society
5. Running the accountable institution management
